Summer Concert - Saturday, June 20th 2009

For our end of year performance Cantóirí presented a Showcase Concert of music spanning the centuries and the globe in the Pepper Canister Church at 8:00pm on Saturday, June 20th 2009. Taking the theme of "An Uplifting Journey", Cantóirí sang music from the 15th century to the present day, folk songs to choral pieces, in eight different languages and all without any sheet music! The concert also featured special performances from individual choir members which were very well received by an appreciative audience. Members of the appreciative audience joined the choir in Toners and further appreciated the epic post-gig party which brought a fantastic end to a very successful and enjoyable year for Cantóirí.

Cantoiri took part in the A.I.M.S Choral Festival, New Ross, Co. Wexford on Sunday, May 24th 2009 and won the Chamber Choir competition.

Christmas gig at Tallaght Hospital, December 2008

The choir performed in the foyer of the hospital on Saturday, December 13th 2008. This is a video of the choir singing ''Silent Night" which was arranged by Ben and sung in Irish, German and French.
Apologies for background static noise - it was the fountain which could not be turned off.

Choral workshop with Martina Niernhuassen (Nov 2008)
This year's choral workshop took place in the Gyreum, Co.Sligo. Martina Niernhaussen joined us again from Paris. Over the course of the weekend we learned many new vocal exercises.

We also kicked-back with a few beers on Saturday night and enjoyed our members' hidden musical talents. All in all, a great time. A short video extract is below (apologies but the sound is not great).
